I am writing to update you on our recently launched new incentives from the Private Sector Lettings Scheme (PSLS).

keen to work with private landlords and letting agents to assist people in housing need to access private rented sector accommodation and create long-term sustainable tenancies. We believe that the private rented sector has the ability to offer people housing options that they might not have considered exploring.

 

At the same time, the council wants to ensure landlords and letting agents are comfortable with helping us find homes for people who would otherwise find it hard to access good quality housing.

The PSLS offers a generous package of incentives to encourage you to work with us.

How does the scheme work
The council enters into an agreement with landlords for a minimum period of 6 months to rent out their properties. The landlord issues an Assured Shorthold Tenancy agreement to the tenant and the property is managed by the landlord or an agent acting on their behalf. Affordable rents are agreed with the landlord in advance based around the local housing allowance for the property size.
